CITIZEN ISSUES

The American Club of Lyon is proud to help defend the rights of the American expatriate community spread throughout the world. FAWCO, our federation of American clubs, is active in issues ranging from transmission of citizenship, voting rights and absentee voting procedures, to obtaining permanent representation in Washington for our community. The American Club of Lyon and FAWCO are dedicated to ending double and random taxation of Americans living abroad.

Along with FAWCO, we fully support the tireless work of other organizations such as the Geneva-based American Citizens Abroad (ACA) and Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO) in Paris.

Every year, former club president and FAWCO Tax Liaison, Eric Way, travels to Washington during Overseas Americans week to share our concerns with legislators and government officials and remind them that over 4 million Americans live abroad.

On this page you will find helpful information for US Citizens living abroad as well as the latest news from Washington delivered to us by Lucy Laederich, FAWCO's US Liaison.
