The American Club of Lyon was founded in 1987 by a group of American families who wanted to create an official organization to represent the expatriate American community in the Lyon area.

Our goals are to:

- Bring American expatriates together to share their common cultural background.

- Offer specific activities to members and their friends.

- Provide a network of support and assistance for Americans in the Rhone-Alps region.

- Promote intercultural exchange in the Rhone-Alps region.

We offer monthly activities as well as annual events that are typically American. See our Activities section for more details.

We also work to support the American expatriate community at large, mainly through our global Federation of American Clubs: FAWCO. You can take a look at our Citizen Issues section to see where we have been working to improve life for expatriate Americans.

Meet the club officers and leaders.

Fondée en 1987, l’association rassemble environ 130 familles de la région Rhône-Alpes. Ses objectifs sont de faciliter l’intégration de ses membres dans la société française tout en partageant leur héritage culturel commun. L’association s’efforce également de promouvoir le dialogue interculturel en renforçant au niveau local les liens entre les communautés française et américaine.
